R - THE LAST FRONTIER
THE LAST FRONTIER
ALASKA
Alaska, called by the americans the Last Frontier, is the contact point between extreme East, West and the great North.
The Great Land is covered by glaciers for 75 thousand km2, has 3 million lakes, 29 volcanoes and the highest bear density of the Nation; these aspects make Alaska one of the most wild and inhospitable land on the planet Earth.
It is a Land characterize by an ancient history, written by some of the most long-lived in- dian and eskimo tribes, and a present mainly tied to pro t. In fact, it is considered such as one of the most important natural resources extraction colony, for the gold processing one hundred years ago, and nowadays for oil drilling.
A State in which Nature is in part wild and uncontaminated and at the same time heavily exploited and antrhropized.
